In a hurry? Sardines with chili and lime is a quick and easy recipe, and a great way to use canned sardines. This recipe mixes the canned sardines with the freshness of lime, celery and parsley, and the hot spike of chili.


  • 2 cans sardines in oil, drained
  • 2 limes, juiced and zested
  • 1 red chili, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • salt
  • 1 small handful parsley leaves, finely chopped


  1. In a small bowl, rub the lime juice over the sardines.
  2. Stir in the chili, lime zest, bell peppers and celery.
  3. Add parsley and salt.
  4. Toss and serve.
