Looking for an easy recipe to make a moist banana bread? You have come to the right place! Banana bread is a cake-like bread perfect to use your (over)ripe bananas.


  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C).
  2. Peel and mash bananas with a fork.
  3. Add salt and baking soda to flour and mix it with bananas.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix sugar with butter. Stir in the egg and add vanilla extract.
  5. Mix together the banana mixture with the sugar-egg mixture.
  6. Grease a 8x4-inch loaf pan with butter.
  7. Pour batter into loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350 F (175 C), or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before serving.


  • Use eggs and butter at room temperature.
  • If you want your banana bread softer and more moist, mix the batter a bit less.
  • When during baking the banana bread browns too much, you can cover it with aluminium foil.
  • Banana bread can be stored at room temperature for 3-5 days, and can be freezed as well.
  • You can use the same ingredients and instructions for making banana bread muffins. Put batter into a muffin pan and bake for 5 minutes at 425 F (220 C), then bake another 15 minutes at 350 F (175 C).
